We do alot of short leg charters with alot of wait time in between but we don't typically charge for the wait time. What is standard with regards to charging for the time how much to charge or minimum wait time before you start charging?? We operate mid-size jets and BE200's.
We charge $75/hr for 2 pilots after 1st 2 hrs wait in a BE20. If we flew single pilot, it would be $50/hr. Overnights are a little negotiable, but generally charge a 14 hr duty day from 0600 to 2000.
Industry standard is to charge wait time on pistons and turboprops but not jets. All aircraft are charged with a 2 hr minimum. I've seen everything from $40/hr to $80/hr. We charge $50/hr for our BE58 and $60/hr for the BE90 (regardless of # of crew). We charge anything after 1 hour of wait. For overnights, we charge wait time until 2000, then an overnight at $500. Wait time begins again at 0800. This is done to deter customers from having the plane sitting all day. This is in the Northeast just for comparison.
At my company, we charge $40 per hour per pilot for wait time. Wait time starts from engine shut down until engine start up. If it's an overnight, the wait time stops at 1700 and starts again at 0800. If we sit an entire day between flights, we charge 9 hours of wait (0800-1700).
Not sure what the customer is charged, ,probably more than what the pilots get to take into account the aircraft. The pilots get $15 hr each after the first hr. Sometimes an overnight is 10hrs wait time in 24 (instead of the full 24). Depends on how it was negotiated. We fly all jets.-kingaira90
Their is a min charge based on time flown on the air ambo flights, not sure if there is on a regular passenger flight.
