FXE will work fine...Don't move for Aviation if you don't have too! TEB is the east coast hub of activity in the NE. Long Island (FRG or ISP) is ok.

feeling adventurous

I saw on airserv.org that they hire sic positions at 400 hours. The organization flies everywhere from Africa to the middle east and afghanistan doing humanitarian transport and relief operations. It would be one hell of a time and it seems you dont need much experience to get on. I'm looking into it myse4lf and will be posting a thread to get more info. Check it out. If you or anyone else finds or has info, let me know.

I just had a talk with the Air Serve CP... sounds interesting, but the pay is low. Maybe because it's a non profit org. Has anyone worked for Air Serve? I'm looking for first hand experience before considering the year contract.
