For a Captain qualified pilot, the average rates I have seen are $800 to $850 a day domestic and $900 to $950 a day international. Depends on a whole bunch of things but $400 a day even for a copilot is way on the low side.

Just joining in the discussion, but if someone gets the type but zero time, how easy is it to get contract work? Thanks for the help.

Without operational time in type, most operators would be reluctant to hire. I wouldn't count on getting much work with just the type rating.

I would go so far as to say it would be virtually impossible to find steady contract work with a type and no time in the a/c in the Challenger - or any other type aircraft for that matter.

If you're going to try and go this route do the legwork first and try and find an operator that may be able to give you some work before you waste your money at Flight Safety on a type rating you won't be able to use - last I knew a Challenger 604 type at FSI was running right around $25K or so.

Chances of getting work? Slim to none.

Thanks everyone for replying to my last question but I forgot one detail. What would my chances be if I am that pilot that was recently featured in Playboy magazine? Thanks again.

Post pictures and then we'll decide.

Uh, yeah, I couldn't read the "articles", but I was able to comprehend the German photos...
