Just wondering how the new bird is working out in the field.. Any opinions?

Dept looking to purchase and I'm just wondering what some of the numbers and performance spec's are.

Thanks in advance

it is great airplane!

I have around 500 hours in 300!

it is great , fast, reliable, and very well performing airplane! It has almost same cost per hour than much smaller and slower hawker 800 and xp!

Always able to climb to 450 in around 20-25 minutes with fullload!

I say enjoy!

Great performer and the pax seem to really enjoy trips aboard the 300. Dispatch reliability is very high, but thats not to say we don't have glitches every so often. Engineering seems to have caught up to most of the recurrent issues in the form of service bulletins. The only downer is when they replace a bad part with another bad part; Bombardier's policy on restocking returned parts can be frustrating. I've flown several different 300's where this was the case.

Overall though, its a very good machine.

A friend of mine showed me their new 300 and I was very impressed. The cabin was laid out very nice and modern. It looked to have more baggage then my 604, even.
Then, the cockpit must've had had a 1/3 of the switches of a 604. Even the 604 overhead panel was gone. Nice, efficient looking office.

The one thing I did notice, was the airstair door. I'm over 6'0 and the first step seemed extremely high. Did anyone else notice this?

It's a da*n good looking airplane on the ramp, too...alot nicer looking then a 04.

This one company I've been doing contract work for is taking delivery of one in a few weeks. I believe the only real problems were software related, and they have taken care of most of that. The Flex Jet guys have the most time in them, and they were kind of quasi test pilots. I know that's a huge streach, but you know what I mean, figuring out all the bugs.
It's a real cool concept, "dark cockpit".

Anyone have any opinions on the 300 training at Simuflite DFW? Also, how long is it? We've heard 15 days. Our first crews go in November.

Fatburger,

I take it you're typed in the G4 so you will be bored to tears. The systems are WAY easy. 15 days is plenty. I came from the LR45 and it was pretty darn easy. If you know the usual...Recal items and limitations, the rest is a walk in the park. The sim has its quirks and simisms but it is 100% better since my initial almost a year and a half ago.

It's my understand Bombardier really laid out the red carpet on this one. The MX support issue with ALL other Bombardier products are not present with the 300. They have seperated themselves from the typical Bombardier SNAFUs, so it's really been a big hit for them. I understand Flexjet can't sell the shares fast enough, and rightfully so.

If you want some real operational date, post on the NBAA Pilots and AvManager message board. You'll get more data and technical feedback than you could have imagined. Good luck, and from what the operators say, vouching for this aircraft will make you the hero in the flight department.

This is a great plane that will be around for a long time.FlexJet Pilot A+++

The boss is considering the 300 to replace our 800A, I can only hope. Saw the airplane at NBAA and sprouted some serious wood. At 7 to 8 million below the cost of a Falcon 2000DX, I think it will turn out to be the aircraft to beat in the Super Midsize running. Great cabin, cockpit and baggage area.

LOL!

I was lied to by a G200 pilot up in SLC. He told me the Gulfstream had a range of about 3600 nm. I said, "I guess we can't win 'em all..." referencing the various attributes of our equipment.

On the TBO for the 300's Honeywell engines; they are finding that the linings on the combustion chambers are wearing out alot quicker than they anticipated. As a result, starting at about 1200 hrs they are taking a real hard look at the burner cans and replacing the linings as necessary. The same airplane will have one engine requiring a replacement and the other one is in great shape. Honeywell is getting eaten up by these costs and is working on a permanent fix.

The CL-300 looks like a performer. The G200 looks like a sled. Anyone know how the 200 performs?

GVFlyer listed everything but time to climb for the Gulfstream G200 in his above post...
