Does anybody know the best place to renew your CFI? Internet or southern California areas? How much does it cost??

I guess it depends on whether you actually want to learn something or just keep your ticket. I did mine online last year for $100 (Gliem, i think). It was quick and easy, but i didn't get much out of it other than a new exp. date

American Flyers have an online program. ...$100 or so but you can complete the online training every two years after that with no further fees.

Gleim.com works for me. The process is straightforward and is actually educationally useful, at least for me. Since I have so much knowledge, I forget a lot of stuff and end up knowing little. It's a good refresher.

For an extra $25.00, you can even avoid the trip to the FSDO.
Dr. G will send you a new temporary certificate by mail.
