For military instructors with a lot of IP time, can any of you recommend a short, quick school for getting my CFI. Preferably one with an examiner on staff. I'm familiar with Sheble Aviation in Kingman, (8 days to knock it out) but want to know about any others that you may experience with.
I am neither an IP or a CFI but ATP Airline Training Professionals is another option. I think they have a standard cookie-cutter CFI course. It takes about two weeks.
Thanks. However, I already had "a plan" on getting the MEI and CFII portion after getting the CFI. The problem with All ATPs is that you can't JUST get the CFI: you have to get all three through their package deal. And that runs about $7000+ once you factor in the examiner fees.
I went the pt 141 route after having about 1000 SIC in the Herk, and having private before UPT, but I also used GI bill. It was good to get back into all the GA stuff. I took 3 weeks and did the comm single engine add on as well as the CFI under a pt 141 school. Mine was in TUS area, I won't mention names because I hear the school no longer has the reputation it did 10 years ago, PM me if you want to to talk
