I went through Gleim, and it took me 3-4 hours total. Most people would agree that it's the fastest and easiest one out there. I sent my paperwork in to them through their ACR service, which was convenient as well.

Best is a matter of taste. In my mind the best is probably the American Flyers pay once and renew for LIFE! As this will definately pay you back for years to come, and eliminates the chances you wont be able to afford it once and let it lapse!
 
you could also demonstrate a 80% pass rate within the previous 24 cal. mo. (off at least 5 sign-offs) and that will take care of it....or get your Gold Seal (one time renewal).
