CFI renewal

Right now, I am not working as a flight instructor, but my license expires at the end of the month.

Which would be the fastest way to renew my license?
For one thing, it is a certificate, not a license.

Assuming that you had been working actively as an instructor during the term of your certificate and have had an 80% or better pass rate, why don't you just haul a completed 8710 and your records to FSDO and be renewed based on activity? It'll be faster than taking a course and it will be free.

Of course, you have to renew before your certificate expires or otherwise you will be SOL and have to ride with an examiner.

It's been almost two years that I don't fly instruct. i have close, but not an 80% pass rate.

I used the Gleim program. It's comprehensive and simple. Finished it in three days. I would recommend it.

The price is $99 and if you want them to process your paperwork, it's another $20.

This course doesn't really sharp too much your knowledge in aviation, but it does give you some good updates in new FAR's, GPS, web sites, an some safety issues for instructors.

I hope it helps. Fly safe!
