Other than the T-34, what other aircraft can anyone think of that would be suitable for doing the CFI checkride in (training and checkride)? There is no provision for doing it in an un-certified/experimental aircraft like the Yak-52, right?

Pilatus PC-3, if you can find one. I'm pretty sure you can't do it in an experimental aircraft.

Is this your initial ride and you need retractable gear? Why a tandem arrangement?

Lots of tandem arrangements are good for providing instruction...any of them, in fact. Cubs, aeroncas, you name it. Your only limitation is the student, and yourself.

Yes: initial CFI checkride. So I'll need a complex aircraft. Add T-34 and AT-6/SNJ to the mix.
Any others?

Did you already have your MEI done?
If you were asking me that, the Grob 103 is a glider...no "complex" required for that.

When I got my airplane CFI, I did have to demonstrate proficiency in a complex airplane, though.

Fly safe!

Ahh... I get it; I was a bit slow on catching on. I was thinking it was like a Grob 115, and didn't realize it was a glider.
