There was a little mention of Cessna's large-cabin work in a recent AIN. If I recall correctly, Cessna is still studying the issue and I don't recall any mention of an entry-into-service date.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cessna does finally do something larger than the X and Sovereign. And I think it would be interesting to see what NetJets would do if Cessna offers a larger aircraft, i.e. place an order.

So, do you think NJA and Santulli will have a fit if CS orders it?

Cancelling the previous CJ3 order and replacing them with Beechjunks was a big mistake........ I'm betting that CS will be first in line for the new aircraft - they need something more capable than the Sovereign. Is it true that CS will also order the CJ4?

CEO says that CS will not order the CJ4. I think the CJ4 is Cessna's way of making up with NJ.

I think the CJ4 is going to be a great airplane.

In my opinion, it was made specifically for fractional use.

  • Single point refueling
  • DVD system in back is standard
  • Enviromental controls in cabin
  • Huge rear baggage area
  • Reconfiguration of cockpit (FMS in better place for optional 2nd one)
  • I think Mach .74+
  • etc

Glad to see that NetJets might be getting this airplane.

Has anyone heard anything about cessna'a new large cabin aircraft in development?

Yea, we're getting the Encore +

The Sovereign does everything they need. Describe "more capable".

I guess I was referring to more range and more cabin space for the owners. I agree that the Sovereign is a great aircraft - just not sure whether CS uses it on Hawaii and Europe flights. Maybe they do...
