Does anyone know of any name brand cell phone plans that don't require a big brother social security number to sign up?
I realize there are the pay as you go cell phones but I estimate that could cost around $100 a month.
My wife wants to give my daughter one (all the kids have them and goodness knows we have to keep up with the trends especially in Orlando). I am very reluctant to provide my SSN just so my daughter can enjoy idle chit chat. Still trying to figure out how we got along without them as little as ten years ago?!

I have noticed that the younger girls like to chat more frequently than most so T-Mobile may work. You can get her 2500 anytime minutes per month, free nights & weekends, free internet & text messaging, all for $99.00 per month. If you really love her and you want her to talk longer then they have a 5000 minute per month plan that she would probably enjoy more and won't be limited to only 2500.

As for the SS number I would not be overly concerned about that since federal laws pretty much will prevent anything major from happening. Credit check is main reason why it is needed initially, stay away from the prepaid plans which are way over priced.
