Does anyone seen an Ce750 equiped with EVS, (supposed to be instaled under the nose ala Gulfstream).

I saw evs installations on Gulfs, GEx and CL604, but never on a C.X (supposed to be standard for all planes delivered fron jan/2004).

if somebody has a photo (or a link) please let me see it.

EVS on a CE750?

Isnt that like putting a $6000 stereo in a lowered Honda Civic?

I didn't realize we had been promoted to Civic status. Is that with a giant Fartpipe or without?

Yes, Cessna certified the Max-Viz EVS2000 on the Ce750 and the Ce680, and are std on the Ce750, this installation requires to use the FMS's screen to show the video, no HUD (maybe later when a low-cost compact HUD being available). Can't be used to lower the descision height because isn't paired with an HUD.

For near 20MM$ the Ce750 isn't really an poor plane, also the planes built from 2002 are very reliable (98+% D.R.) (I don't know detailed reliability data on the Ce750, but our CJ2 in 3 years has a 100% perfect dispatch rate, of course is a very simple plane).

I'm not sure I'd want to approach my boss wanting to spend what...$500,000 just for the equipment (not installation) on an EVS that isn't really worth squat without a HUD/HGS? To each their own I guess.

Second, it is NOT standard equipment. I quote "This option is available on all new Citation Xs. The EVS-2000 sensors are installed on top of the nose of the Citation X, and the image will be displayed on the second FMS." Now really, about all you're going to functionally be able to use it for is taxi. Is the FP really going to be keeping scan AND watching the second FMS while shooting an approach?

I agree with 2000flyer. This would be a "hard sell" to anyone IMO. Without the HUD component, I would consider the system to be worthless. The last thing I would do is scan down to the FMS while shooting the approach. Of course the FMS is checked prior to beginning the approach, but it's not part of the normal scan.

Is it certified yet on the Sovereign? When I was in Wichita in January, I never heard a word about EVS.

It's kind of hard to see how it would be worthwhile to the boss, unless you invite him up front when taxiing in to Flower Aviation...

(Or maybe that feature is overstated? I've heard it works at close range, at least.)

Plase, this thread it for photos, no discusssion about Cessna, why to whorry if they can sell the EVS on the Ce750 or the Ce680 (it's costs as factory option is much lower than 500K$), they offer has obvious limitations copared with the an EVS paired with HUD, but isn't fully useless, because the F.O. could watch the EVS screen frequently, and warn about obstacles, the EVS utility is like the airbag 99.9999% of the is useless, but the rest of the time can save your life, as I know uncooled (max-vis Ce750) EVS hasn't the sensibility of the cooled version (Gulf/Boeing/Bombardier/and soon Dassault), but also are useful to warn about terrain, birds on high low/high altitude, landing field incursions etc.

I'm only interested on photos on the installed thing (the sensor), I'm helping to prepare a work about the EVS for the public affair dept., the utility judgement of this particular implementation its secondary, in less than two year we will have our G450 with the first and best EVS yet.

If you didnt want pilots opinions about the farkin thing and just wanted pictures of the installation then maybe you should pick up the phone and call Cessna (?)

 .

Thanks Gulfstream200,

But all that cessna offer to us is a printed catalog mailed or delivered on a meeting with the sales representative, of course we are not thinking on purchase a C.X, so they are not so happy with us, (we never considered seriously the C.X before select the G450, we keep relations only for the CJ2 maint.) also to order data about a plane we haven't intention to purchase isn't courtesy from us.

I think this way could be faster.

Maybe make a post over at airliners.net asking for their help.

Those crazy dorks would fall all over themselves trying to be the first with a pic of a CE750 equipped with EVS.

Oh yeah, I can see it now. 200X1/2 approach, crappy weather all around, PF monitoring the approach. At 250', PNF calls "runway in sight on FMS." PF looks up, doesn't see squat, scans shot to hell, now time to dive back inside for the missed.

The whole purpose of EVS was to aid the pilot flying in seeing the runway (or environment) during a low visibility approach (amoung other things). Even when used to 100' AGL, the pilot not flying MUST have the runway environment in sight to continue the approach to landing. I, for one, wouldn't want to have my head down flying a low approach and at 100' have the PNF call "runway on the FMS" and have but a few short seconds to look outside and orientate myself for a landing. But, hey, maybe thats just me.

I believe it's Gulfstream that is offering the option of a "repeater" on the right side of the aircraft so both pilot's are viewing the same "picture" provided by the EVS. That, my friends, would be money well spent. Kudos to the folks in Savannah for that option!
