Am I imagining it, or does the CE210 make a lot more noise than similarly sized airplanes powered by the same engine? Why is this? I always imagined that it had something to do with the tip speeds on the prop, but I can't for the life of me figure out why they should be different.
 
I think the IO-520 on the 210 spins around 2900 rpm so tip speed would have to do with it for sure. Tip shape also a factor, and prop diameter.

I'm sure the resident experts can chime in on this one.
