Please Quit Posting Jobs From the NBAA Broards

These jobs are being posted from the NBAA forum. If you continue to do this without the permission of the poster you jeopardies future post. Please act responsibly

Air Mail Guidelines

  • Be aware that you always have two options: responding through the list or to a Member personally. The content of your message should determine which of these you choose.
  • "Lurk" (i.e., observe quietly) and learn what's acceptable before posting to the list.
  • Review the Air Mail archives before posting a question. This is also a good way to become familiar with a list's acceptable topics, etc. Don't over-quote when responding to a prior message. Include only the specific information you're responding to, and chop out the rest.
  • Avoid one-line posts such as: "Thank you." or "Me too." If you're post doesn't add value, don't send it. (Example: Don't send a "thanks" message through the list. Send something like that directly to the person you're thanking.)
  • Be careful with that SHIFT key. WRITING MESSAGES IN ALL CAPS IS THE EQUIVALENT OF SHOUTING. Try to avoid this. Unless, of course, you really are shouting.
  • Use meaningful subject lines. "Number of Pilots Required" is better than "Help please."
  • Include your name, title and company at the bottom of your message. Air Mail will automatically insert your e-mail address.
  • Signature files should not exceed 5-6 lines.
  • If you are posting a personal employment need or availability, please do so only to the Jobs list at this address: [email protected]. Discussions related to employement or the job market are appropriate for this list.
  • Be courteous to other list members. If you disagree with them, don't resort to personal insults.
  • Do not post private e-mail messages to a public (Air Mail) list without the author's permission.
  • Do not cross-post (i.e., send the same message to more than one list).
  • Do not send virus warnings to the list. If you must share with someone, e-mail [email protected] who will filter the out inevitable hoaxes.
  • Spell-check and reread your messages before posting.
  • Do not forward copyrighted material to the list unless you have permission to do so.
  • Only Air Mail subscribers are able to post to Air Mail, therefore you must post from the address you used to subscribe. If your message doesn't show up, check to see if you sent it from the right address.
  • Avoid HTML, rich text or stylized email. Not all e-mail programs of list members will recognize such formats. Sending messages in plain text will ensure that everyone can read your message. If you need to format and style your words in order to be understood, please put the information on a web site and post the web address to the list.
I do not think that info posted on the NBAA Airmail is copy righted. If I was a prospective employor I would want this info to get out to as many people as possible.

I know the rules

Just said I don't think it is a good idea doing this and you're making assumptions that the employer would not mind. I would check first.

Just a point of view.

Yikes!

Sorry! Just figured that since some of you are looking for jobs, thought I'd pass it on. Lesson learned.

Why not?

If they wanted the job kept a secret, why would they put it on the web? I, for one, appreciate it being made available here. Maybe an alternative is to sanitize any of the NBAA stuff off the posting so nobody from that organization gets their feathers ruffled...

Nobody on NBAA has gotten their feathers ruffled, except Skydan. The originators of the jobs have not said a peep on NBAA.

Case closed!

The info on this particular job is available at several resources other than the NBAA. It's apparently not a closely held secret.

I posted this job ad on this website and the NBAA. I guess planejobs and others have taken my ad and posted it on their website. I don't mind as that will bring in more contacts, but it does make my email and voice mail fill up quickly.

Maybe Skydan was trying to get the job (or someone he/she knows) and wanted to keep it secret for less competition. Things that make you go hmmmm. ;)
