Hello --

Does anyone have the contact info (CP / address) or gouge for Carlson Companies (Travel Agencies, Radisson Hotels, TGI Fridays) out the Twin Cities. I didn't see anything on them in the NBAA directory. They have a Falcon 2000 EASy position posted on Avcrew.com.

Thanks,

Barnowl

Gouge? Requires a 2000 EASy type rating with time in type. If you have that, I think the rest would be downhill.

So what's the deal, is the 2000 EASy sim broken and won't be fixed for the next 10 years?

Or is it such a revolutionary airplane that only a select few have the necessary skills to fly it, and those select few have already been through school?

Or are they too cheap to spend 50K to type someone after they bought a $27M airplane?

What's the deallll with these time-in-type people? [/Jerry Seinfeld] Would they turn down a space shuttle pilot because he doesn't have the coveted type rating?

Pretty much sums it up. I am sure there are a few pilots who have said the same thing about getting hired at Southwest.

Either you have the qualifications to apply for the job, or you don't!

Depending on the company...the insurance policy drives the type rating and time in type (or jets or whatever). We have a fully qualified (with type rating) co-captain who can not occupy the left seat until the insurance man says so.

It is not pretty but it is reality.

DA2-EASY type ratings may be hard to get because of the limited number of sims (2) worldwide and the back log on deliveries, the actual training and checkride is no more difficult than any other glass cockpit (IMHO).

First of all, if you called FSI Teterboro today and asked for a slot to send a guy for a type, they'd tell you "I'll put'em on the wait list...which is running into next year as we speak." I know this for a fact as I had this conversation with them yesterday.

Second, why not hire a guy with a type and time? Initial's are running $45-50K while recurrents are MUCH less expensive and easier to get into.

Third, as someone mentioned, it may be insurance driven.

Paris should have their sim up shortly (if it's not already). Dallas (FSI) hopes to be up this fall. SimuFlite (Morristown) hopes to have one up late 4Q06 or 1Q07. Relief is on the way for FSI-TEB and they sorely need it. They're back-logged with initials right now and recurrents are suffering for it as well.
