My recommendation: San Juan, P.R......why? No taxes, not considered int'l, so jumpseating is easy, even on AA who hubs there. Stay at the Caribe Hilton (home of the original Pina Colada). They have crew rates, as AA, DL, and other crews stay there. Taxi is about $20 from the airport to hotel. It's on the beach with great pools. Other suggestions, Turks and Caicos...stay at the Comfort Suites, right accross the street from the beach...this is good for a short trip only, I would have gotten bored for a whole week as there is not much to do but beach bum and drink. Also, try the infamous Maho Beach in St. Maarten. The Sonesta hotel will bargain with you (if they have unsold rooms upon your arrival)...me and a buddy went there and got $100 all inclusive per night. Just watch out for the strip club down the street, they will rob you blind during the lap dances, ha! Tobago is also fun, but a little difficult to get there, you must first go to Port of Spain, Trinidad, and then its $25 RT on Tobago Express from POS to Tobago. The Hilton on Tobago gives good crew rates, and also a plus is the Virgin Atlantic crew stays for a whole week, as they only have weekly service from the UK. Good sightseeing if you know what I mean. There is always Cancun as well...always good all-inclusive rates thru interliner, ID90, etc. Good luck, and drink a beer on the beach for me.
