So what's the deal with this airline? We ran into a guy the other day and he said he just interviewed there. He said that he couldn't believe how nice everyone was. This guy also said they are talking about "major" growth and they are owned by some billionaire dude. Is it like once they get you down to PR the screwjob becomes apparent? I did the research on some of the other posts on this board, it sounds like this place is too good to be true. Are any pilots on here actually flying for this company? C'mon C-Sun pilots, speak up!

What about future growth?
How do the upgrades work down there?!!!!
What are the REAL hourly pay rates? I've heard conflicting info...
Average days off per month?
Vacation?
Medical?
Dental?
Are the scheds just a total mess?
How does the seniority sytem work?
Are they union?
What is the pay while in training?
Do they pay for your hotel in training?
Are the Captains total pricks?

Please no rumours, I'm FO qualified, but I don't even want to send them any paperwork unless this place is for real.

Sun, Surf, Hotina's? What could be better for a single guy?

from what i understand carribean sun and carribean star are owned by a guy who also practically owns the whole fckin island and the hotels on it. so since he owns the vacation land and properties that these two airlines serve, hes got the money to run it.

its always good to work for an airline that has the money cause of the planes rather than has the planes cause of the money.

so i dunno. give it a shot. imagine living on a vacation island flying cross nice blue waters.

Righty-Right

Thank you for the information, methinks I want to look before I leap though. Again, does anyone know about the following?

future growth? like stateside
How do the upgrades work
How does the seniority sytem work?
What are the hourly pay rates?

Down to 4 questions now.

I have a friend that works there, I don't remember specifics but starting pay is about $33 an hour, upgrades are supposedly about 1 to 1 and a half years. Captains make $60 an hour. There is pay during training. He likes it there. Stays at really cool places like antigua and st. marteen on overnights. Lots of hot puerto rican gals. Many of the pilots are ex united, US Airways, American guys that are waiting to get called back.

They offered me a capt job back in Jan. In the end I decided it wasn't for me. However everyone there that I met was very nice and everything seem to be as advertised. If San Juan and Island flying is what you want then go for it. The DO Rick (i can't spell his last name) is a great guy I'd work for him anyday but like I said due to other reasons it just isn't for me at this time.
