At this time Caribbean Star are looking for 18 f/o's and about
3-4 Captains for the dash.

Contract F/0 pay is 4k/mth. Capt is 5.8k/mth. I understand you must be type rated in the DHC-8.
Bases are ANU, GND, SLU, BGI.
Pilots are worked to the max though, average 90-100 hrs flight hrs /mth
Its a pretty good deal seeing that lodging and transporation are provided by company.

However, the real growth is with the sister company Caribbean Sun in SJU.
I hear four jets on order. At present they operate 3 DHC-8.
No type rating necessary, however I heard all of the pilots hired in
the last class were DHC-8 typed.

Hope this helps

Troy, would you happen to know any contact info for Caribbean Sun? Also do you know why only the Caribbean star has a web page (none for the sun). And I assume that they hire non-Antiguan nationals since the pilot base can't be very large there. So how difficult is it to convert your certificates over (if it's necessary at all)? And finally, if you don't mind my asking do you fly down in the Caribbean yourself. Thanks so much!:)

To answer your question, Star takes a lot of contract guys,
although I hear there are a lot of DHC-8 rated guys in the
region.
There is no need to convert your license if you apply to Star,
once you have a DHC-8 rating. Im not 100% sure but you may need to test your DHC-8 knowledge with the company and the Antiguan Civil Aviation Dept. Also, you will have to do a checkride in the airplane.

For Caribbean Sun, you apply as usual since it is a US company.

And yes, I do fly in the Caribbean region.
