Hey everyone...I've got a lovely paper coming up for school about different types of cargo aircraft. I was wondering if any of ya'll know of some good sites I can get info from. Has to be 12 pages of text so anything would help....thanks in advance!

If you need some filler you might talk about how ABX Air, formally Airborne Express, developed their own "C" containers which could be loaded through the passenger door allowing them to operate former passenger DC8, DC9 and 767 airplanes without having to cut cargo doors into them. Should be worth a page or two... See the history info at http://www.abxair.com/

Did you know that the "C" in C container actually stands for Corchoran, the last name of the guy who designed the thing. It's amazing the things they teach us at The Academy.

Does it have to be single spaced or double spaced? :)

Do the paper on how all airplanes are cargo planes....not just the "bigguns"

12 pages no problem, without having to break a sweat in the research department. Talk about how seats are removed from light airplanes and nets installed to haul checks, lab mice, auto parts, etc etc etc.

Cargo planes I can think of....

C-182,206,210,310,402, Beech 18, Baron 55/58, Lance, Seneca, Navajo, Learjets, Citations, King airs, Aerostar, MU-2, Metro, DC-3,DC-4,DC-6,DC-8,DC-9,DC-10,MD-11,B-707,720,727,747,757,767, A-300..etc....as long as you like to keep typing.

Toss in a couple of pages detailing the cross usage of Military airlift with civilian types...how each borrows from the other. Examples such as KC-135=B707, KC-10=DC-10, C-47=DC-3, C-9=DC-9, Plus the pure bred Military lifters.....C-141, C-5, C-17

12 pages no problem!!! :)

...All the things you need to know to get a pilot job.

Hey KeroseneSnorter you left out the venerable classic Falcon 20

Oops!! Can't leave that one out.

I saw a rarity the other day......a Falcon 20 still in pax configuration!!! Couldn't remember the last time I saw that.

Don't forget the highest production transport turboprop ever produced. The F27, still hauling 47 years later. After I learned to love her, my hearing has never been the same.

At least I won't be out of a job at the end of the year like you guys at CAT will be!

Rhoid, I don't work at CAT dumb ass! That CRJ FTD has to be a joy to fly!! BTW, 1 year at CAT can float you for 2 years while you look for another job, compared to what you are going to make.
