Hi folks

Would any of you be able to tell me whether or not Cape Air hires pilots on a seasonal basis (summer only, for instance)?

Beyond that, what are the schedules like at Cape Air (number of days off, types of trips, etc)? And what would a typical day on the line entail? Thanks for any info.

I read somewhere that Cape Air C402 pilots in BOS in the Summer fly 12 or so legs a day back and forth to the Cape and islands(Martha's Vinyard? etc...). I remember one story about one of their pilots getting so confused and disoriented that a female private pilot had to take over and try to land at Provincetown (on the tip of the Cape). The story ended with a gear up landing---due to the fact that the private pilot had never flown a retractable gear airplane and must have thought that the gear was already down.........But you do get to land on super short runway 33R at BOS---which must be fun...

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

The Pilot was "confused" because he was in DIABETIC SHOCK!....

HE failed to disclose that info to anyone, therefore it was HIS fault.

The girl who landed (heroicly, might I add) only had taken a handful of lessons, and was FAR from a private pilot.

A representative of the FAA later commented that had the gear been extended, at the fast approach speed, they'd have run off the end of the runway with HORRIFIC results.

Just the facts.......
