Anyone know what Cape Air's hiring minimums are?

I read 1500 total/200 multi on their website, but if I remember correctly they used to hire SIC's with less before. Do they still have SIC's flying for them (what are the minimums in that case?) or do they only hire into captain positions now...

I'm just short of 1500 and about 50 short of 200 too, that's why I'm asking... Plus it looks like it might be a while before I can get any more multi again (students being few and far between)...

From what I've heard, their hiring hotline and the person in HR are all very straightforward and friendly. If you called them directly, they could answer your questions. They have this contact info on their website.

good luck

Not sure, but ...

... I don't think they hire SICs. So therefore the 1500 (with an ATP) is pretty much required. The multi I believe is not a firm requirement, I know a guy who got hired with closer to 100 than 200 (but he did have an internal recommendation). If you really want to work for them, you probably need to start thinking about an ATP.

Honestly though, it's been awhile since I was plugged into that network; hopefully somebody who knows the real deal will chime in.

P.S. I think your MEI will put you in a good light there - one of their senior pilots was telling me once about their problems with washouts, "but the CFIs are good man. Nobody is as comfortable flying around singled up as flight instructors."

Is Cape 121?

No, 135. This thread might get more traffic over in the 135 forum - there's usually one or two Cape Air threads going over there.

What's the difference if it's 121 or 135?
