Anybody know anything about Cape Air doing any hiring currently or in the near future for this coming Winter? Their website says that they are accepting applications and I have recently applied, but I haven't seen anything on the forums as of late about their hiring status. Thanks in advance!

They are hiring. Don't have much in the way of specifics but there are classes being run, and planned, mostly due to attrition (recalls etc). I'd expect a big push for the spring.

Called for an interview in early october after attending a flight ops job fair and meeting them at their booth...

Am I reading right that their captains make $15.00/hr?

Is that based on a 40hrs/wk?

Yes. It's just like working at McDonalds, paid by the hours you're at work. Everything over 40 or working your days off is time and a half. Beware though many lines only pay 35 hours. Some of the outstation lines go up to 50 hours or so but you'll have to move out to some godforsaken place. Cape Air has been trending toward an entirely outstation based company... and they have something like 30 pilot bases in exotic places like Ogdensburg NY and Kirksville, MO.
