Hello,
I have some random Cape Air questions for anyone that can answer them?

- Do they operate P91, P135, P121?

- Why do you need an ATP to fly for them?

- Where do most people go after leaving Cape Air?

- What is it like in the carribbean in the winter (social life, cost of living)

- How is the morale there?

-Does the 402 have counterrotating props?

Thanks
D

As far as I know, Cape Air is a Part 121 and 135 scheduled and on-demand charter. You need your ATP because you would be flying as single-pilot captain under at least 135 requirements in a Cessna 400 model. Haven't heard how winters in the Caribe are (but really, how back could it be?), but summers were always fun (and exhausting) for the people I knew who flew there.

Check the latest Cape Air gouge on www.Aviationinterviews.com to get an idea of who they are hiring. Seems someone with a few thousand hours was turned down while a furloughee from a major with over 10,000 hours was hired. As his story went, Cape was looking for a commitment of at least until end of October 2003. Since most furloughees don't expect recall by then, they may be your competition.

Flying New England and the Islands up there in the summer is amazing, to say the least. Best of luck to you.

I could not find the link you were talking about? Could you give more info on where to find that link?

Cape Air Info

1. Cape Air operates under FAR 135 Regulations for Schedueled Service.

2. An ATP is required to operate an airplane as Captain under (schedueled service with passengers )FAR 135.

3. Most people go to regionals or fractionals.

4. The Carribean is fun for a season. You make $3.00 more an hour to go down to the Carribean + $3,000 to move down and up to a $1,000 to move back. If you plan well you will at least break even or if you are cheap you will make money.

5. The morale is good.

6. No Counter roatating props

When do the planes come back from the Carribbean for the busy summer season.
Also, are there any opport to go to FLorida in the winter or just Carrib.
thanks
