Question is can it be legally done?
To make it simple, WX is really good, airport is in sight, and within 5 miles.
The debate seems to be that you need to have VFR charts on board, which I don't agree with. We are on company flight following.

I can't find any references.

It should be in your op specs. Our says we can but we need to have established contact with someone on the ground so they know we are coming and someone is expecting us. In the case above if we had contacted the FBO on the ground then we could cancel.

clearly, the ops specs govern your specific operation

even a regional will specific requirements such as 10 miles from the runway environment, runway or environment in sight, CTAF operating,
we had departure stuff as well, such as must pick up an ifr within 25 miles. this was great to beat the puddlejumpers out of places like PGV or RWI

As a 135 or 121 air carrier, if you are not approved for VFR enroute operations, you do not need VFR charts, they may be nice to hve are not required. So with the airport in sight, you must meet the requiremnts of Op Spec C-77.

anybody know of an online reference to OPS-Specs? I do not have my book handy to look it up.
