Can you fit a 6'3" person in a 172 or PA28?

Sure. Leg room would be the only problem.

6'6'' and no problem. Only thing I could get in but couldnt fly (to date) was an Emeraude CP328 (homebuild).

Should be fine....152 is where it would be tight...
I think some people have longer legs and short torso, while others have shorter legs and long torso....
Ive had students shorter than me (im 6'2) hitting head while im fine....its strange....

I'm 6'3" and am physically not capable of getting into a 152. A 172 is doable but a bit cramped, a 182 is comfy.

I fly a warrior regularly. I'm 6'7'' 270lbs. only problems are that my feet are big, and have a hard time staying off of the brakes. A little practice and consiousness (sp?) will solve that problem. My head is real close to the roof, but no problem unless in (what I will call) moderate turbulance. Only other issue is if I crank the yoke hard to either side. It will hit my knees; just kinda have to wiggle around until you get the yoke over. It's the only plane I've ever flown, so I don't know any better! :D

6' 2" here, and I fly pipeline in a 182 anywhere from 6 to 8 hours a day with only a couple of stops. Was flying in the 172 before that. I've not found either one to be cramped at all.

If you're tall, try out a Mooney. They are made for 6 footers. Seriously! But yeah 172 or PA28 no problem. Unless you're 6'3 and 300lbs

I had a student that was 6'5" and about 290 lb.......it was fun trying to fit two fat guys into a cherokee...but it is possible......

Really? I am 6'3" too and learned to fly in a 152. No probs. Just strapped the airplane on and did it!

I'm 6'3", and I flew a 152. It was kind of like trying to use a small size condom. It works, but it's no fun.

172 was no problem, same for Pa-28. Flew a PA-28 from Michigan to Maine, VFR.

Agreed with Hoop. A good flying friend of mine is 6'7 and about 275, and he has no problem fitting in a Cherokee 150. The only real problem we have is that the yoke easily hits the tops of his leg if you go any considerable distance to the left or right. But nothing a couple notches backwards with the seat won't fix.

I'm about 5'10" and 185 lbs, and suprisingly, we both fit well in the cockpit. It's not at all as cramped as you'd expect.

I second the post about Mooney's as well. Fine airplanes for larger people.

6'6" 350lbs and I've got 300 hours dual given in a 172. I've flown a pawnee as well, so it can be done. Can't do a 150 though.

I arranged flight lessons for an NBA player who is 6"8" and 275. He is not hte tallest person at the flight school, the taller person though weighs less.
