Heard on the news today that GLA is considering moving back operations into IL. They had a representitive on the phone and he said they are thinking about adding service into Springfield, Decatur, Marion, and Chicago Midway. I know the Marion to Chicago route would fill a need in the market for Southern IL University kids that live in Chicago. Right now Marion is only served by Regions which flys into STL.

Anybody heard anything?

Interesting. I remember back in my days at KLAF when they'd fly in under the United Express colors. I think it was a 1900. Then we'd have the Mesaba Dash 8 or Metroliner coming in there too. Those were the days. It'd be nice to see them back in the Great Lakes area. :)

eightk, check your PMs.

It's been the rumour of the month. I haven't researched it, but it seems like it might fill in a few gaps left after the departure of Windy City.

There was an article a month or so back that said the cities were working on getting the money since that was the main hold up. Now I guess it looks like they've got the money so I guess there's more "truth" to it than before. Although I don't know where we're gonna get the 1900's to make those runs up there.

Are there still ex-GLA 1900's down in AZ? I remember a few of them went south while I was at Lakes. And I thought Lakes had to return some 1900's around last April or May, possibly due to a request from Raytheon.

It would be fun for the Lakers to have Chicago/East Side flying back. It was a lot of fun flying ORD, SPI, and the infamous OSH/MBL run. (Anyone remember the cookies and popsicles from the agents in MBL?)

Not sure if there are any in AZ other than the ones that are doing the PHX stuff but I think Scenic still has two of our 1900's.

A stack of em down in ABQ, god knows where else. Of course management still claims to be horny for more Advanced Tactical Fighters, so who knows what they'd do.

On second thought, after we lose all the Nebraska cities that should free up some capacity :)

Losing the Nebraska cities? Are you referencing the EAS cuts...cause that could affect a whole lot more than Nebraska for Lakes.

Oh btw, love the avatar...

"Mom, if you want this three-way to happen, you better change your tone!"

Does anyone remember the "good" ol' days in SPW? That place was awesome. The overnights included a trip to lucky ladies if I remember right, which I don't remember well.
