Can a furloughed pilot jumpseat? For example, can a pilot furloughed from AA jumpseat (in the cabin of course) of a Delta flight?

Are there any FAA reg’s about this?

Assume the jumpseater has a valid I.D., pilot license and medical.

Thanks

Although I'm not looking it up, the answer is 'no.' As I recall, you have to have a company ID + a valid physical to jumpseat. IfI'm wrong, somebody please tell me, because I'll be on a plane shootingoff to parts beyond tomorrow if so.

Mach,

You are correct. You must possess a valid company ID that has a recip agreement with the company you work for. In addition, you must posess a current medical and license.

If you are caught, the FAA will suspend your pilots license and you could face jail time enforced from the FAA and the TSA.

Impersonating a pilot employed by an airline can also get you on the TSA "No-Fly" list.

Regards,

No. The FAA will not allow a furloughed pilot to jumpseat, regardless of company policy or what your furlough ID may say or where you actually end up sitting on the plane.

As stated....don't try it...the consequences could be very baaaad...the CA should decline the request anyway.
