Guys:

A e-mail from my union stating they temp loss CASS. Heads-up if you commute.

USAirways is out also.

As a US Airways Express carrier we have not been notified of any CASS changes. Last we were told US was operating under a waiver so US Airways stations didn't have to display pictures.

I hope US didn't lose their waiver, because we can't check CASS without them.

Same with CAL but the waiver ran out thats why the disruption

True. Some of the CAL/XJT and USAirways gates still have the old green screen terminals and can't pull up pictures. As a result, these airlines are not 100% compliant.

CAL/XJT and USAir received an extension to meet this requirement, but that extension expired Nov. 1. We asked for additional time, but this was denied by TSA.

Codeshare partners for the respective airlines should still be able to ride the cockpit JS (at least that's the case at CAL/XJT). Others may still be able to ride in the cabin if space is available.

As a member of the XJT jumpseat committee, let me appologize to all those of you have have been kind and willing to give our guys a ride in the cockpit to/from work even though we can't reciprocate at this time. Rest assured, we're working hard to get this TSA-mandated goat rope squared away.

Thanks to all you Continental and ExpressJet crews out there for the rides. Never had a bad j/s experience (with the exception of a few IAH CSRs...wink) with either carrier. You guys and gals are true professionals. Hope this gets straightened out soon. Good luck.

Same thing. Lots of confusion amongst the agents, but they let me on the plane (bottom line).

As far as US airways goes, PDT crews are in the database- I had an AA agent show me my picture (it was her first time using photo cass and she thought it was really neat). If we're in, I assume mainline et al are too (they don't let us have nice things at PDT). Plenty of outstations still do have the old computers, though.

I'm speaking for XJT and CAL, but this should apply to USAir, as well. We are fully able to transmit picture through the CASS database. What this means is that we can use CASS to ride on another airline's cockpit jumpseat, ie. AA, NW, DL, UA, etc. That's why the AA gate agent was able to pull up your picture and get you CASS approved.

The hangup is on our end (and USAir's), in that some of our stations can't pull up the pictures from the CASS database. Therefore, the TSA, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that no offline airline jumpseaters can ride in the cockpit, period. So, we can ride on yours, but you can't ride on ours.

Again, we're working to resolve this problem. Meanwhile, thanks for the kind words. As I said, ya'll are welcome to ride in the back.

Jumpseated on Airways Thursday morning and this morning. Approved in CASS via the old printer, as they've been doing it. No issues what so ever.

I see you fly the 170. Do you any of the USAir codeshare flying? Also, did you ride up front or in the back?

I see, thanks.

So is the problem only that some stations can't get the pics up? and the TSA's solution was to dissallow the ones that can from doing it? If so, one more reason to hate those kcufers.

I'm on the Shuttle Cert. I have no Airways Bennies. I sat in the Cockpit of an A319 from ORD-CLT. Coming to work (CLT-CMH) a few days ago, I sat in the back of the B733.

So even if they CAN pull your pic up at a given terminal, they still can't let you on because some terminals *SOMEWHERE ELSE* can't?! If so, that seems in line with current TSA philosophy. <See Eye-rolling emoticon>
