Management has beat them to their "game face" already. Here's CEO spin on a great quarter:

HOUSTON, June 12 (Reuters) - Continental Airlines' drop in revenue and recent cost increases are cause for concern, but the burdens should be manageable, the airline's chief executive said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after the airline's annual shareholders meeting, Larry Kellner said rising fuel costs are a challenge that is compounded by low-fare competition.

Kellner did not say whether summer ticket sales would overcome rising costs. "We'll just see how the summer goes," he said.

We'll just see how the summer goes, and then will ask for more pay and benefit cuts. Now we know why they were so happy to accept ALPA's request for early openers.

Perhaps this spin had to do with the pilot presence at the shareholders meeting today.

I hope so. Great turnout at the annual meeting in IAH. Fortunetly we are not going to " see how this contract '08 goes".

Hopefully they'll get all of this earning out of the way before the Profit Sharing plan expires in '09. :p
