I flew a C340 shortly after I was furloughed from TWA in October 2002. I requested 350 a day, and the owners ended up paying me 400 a day. The gig lasted nearly 2 years, until I left for a place with health insurance/retirement benifits.
The owners were fully aware that single IFR piloting in the NorthEast is challenging (to say the least!!!). Therefore, they knew they needed to pay well to keep a qualified pilot on staff. They sent me to school on the Plane. It was the first formal "CE-340" school I went to, and it was well worth it. The insurance was reduced & I learned a few things.
Do not under estimate these little birds, they are a handful you deserve to be well paid.
