Does anyone know what background the MAC Caravan pilots usually come from when hired? Do they require any multi or what? I was looking at the number of 208 they fly and it is quite large. But I've never run into anyone that flys single engine for them.

OK... I guess I'll try to answer your questions. I'm former MAC but I believe the van guys need 1500-2000 PIC. Pay rates are on www.airlinepilotcentral.com under MAC. Good company, good mx. Search MAC on these boards and you'll find a good bit of accurate info. There have been some changes there since I've left.

Bases are good as well. Off the top of my head (may have changed) ... BWI, ERI, SBY, TLH, BKW, SBN, FPR, SUA, FLL, MIA, MTH, EYW, plus 5 or 6 vans based in SJU flying to islands in the Caribbean. It's some fun flying and good pay for not a lot of work.

Good luck.

Mac

Friend of mine just got hired at MAC into the turbine suburban. Flies 1 hr. at night, overnights, and flies 1hr. back in the morning. Does this 4 times a week and makes 33k/yr. He says mx is great, equip is great, but training was a beeotch. He seems real happy there. I've been told the upgrade to right seat of the ATR is quick but the road to left seat is a long one. Just what I heard.....
