In the "we're cleaning up" commercial there is a quick clip of 2 DC3's flying in formation said to be looking for oil. Is there an operator down there using the 3 to spot or is this just file footage? I thought all the workhorse DC3's were gone from the continental US after the one in Miami OH shut down.

This plane is flying out of Houma right now, doing dispersant ops. I've seen it on the news and in that history/discovery/something channel show about the spill. It's a turbine conversion.

I haven't seen another one though.

Apparantly the company outta my field is down there with their DC3. Forgot the name of it, but they work around the SW FL area.
