Anyone here fly for the border patrol or have any info about the agency. I realize one must become an agent first, but beyond that what other info is out there. For example how competitive is it for a flying position once accepted in? How is the pay? What are the bases? Any info anyone could provide3 would be helpful.

I can't tell you about the process currently, but a few years ago I went through, and the entry process was almost a year. At the time, pilot applicants were running two to three years of ground patrol duty before anticipating a pilot position. That was a plus, because formerly it had been ten years.

Just remember, like any federal LE flying position, you're a law enforcement officer first, and a pilot second.
