I thouroughly enjoyed 'The Long Way Home' by Ed Dover. It's about a Pan Am Boeing 314 that wound up in the south Pacific when Pearl Harbor was attacked. I don't want to give too much away but they had to fly the plane westbound to Pan Am's HQ in New York. The crew dealt with no charts, radio silence, almost shot down by friendlies, hot and heavy take-offs, auto-gas, etc. Good stuff.
