Boeing checklist items consist of a challenge and a response.
Example:
Wheel well fire warning…………..Checked

Boeing Manuals give an amplified description of each checklist item response with a description of what to check or look for.

Many Boeing checklists start with:
Flight Deck Preparation……….Completed
This particular item is not specifically discussed or amplified.
Can anyone elaborate on what they actually had in mind when they wrote this?

Probably interior flows

I think they are referring to Captain and 1st O interior flows. These interior flow checklists prepare the cabin for engine start and departure. This could also include company specific items such as weight and balance, IFR clearance, release signed etc. In our before start checklist, it is the first step and we use to ensure we have completed our flows, set switches correctly, signed forms, and we're now ready for checklists and engine start.

It is a vague statement but is used as a catch all before proceeding to light fires.
