Is this correct or not?

Blue Precision Approaches
Green Non-Precision
Brown No approach

I have been hearing Blue is an insrument approach and green is non instrument.

Thanks!!

IFR airports (Jeppesen published approach procedures), VFR airports (No Jeppesen published approach procedures) and never seen (?????)

I need NOS......

The NOS enroute charts have brown airports, they are VFR airports only.

blue: instrument approaches approved by DoD for military use
green: instrument approaches, not approved by DoD for mil use
brown: vfr

I'll agree with Fokker. Green airports are VFR only. Blue airports have an approved, active instrument approach. Haven't seen red airports on any Jepp charts.

Illini Pilot, where are you basing your information?

FAA vrs. Jepp Charts

Both Fokker and Illini Pilot are correct. They are just referring to two different chart providers.

Illini Pilot is correct.
FAA (formerly NOS) enroute charts depict airports three ways.
Blue: DoD approved instrument procedures
Green: Non-Dod approved instrument procedures
Brown: VFR only

FokkerJet and Flyingtohigh are also correct
Jepp enroute charts only depict airports two ways:
Blue: instrument procedure
Green: non instrument procedure

So, this is just much ado about nothing!

P.S. Illini Pilot, watch out for the shark.

No big deal, but the original question referred to Jepp charts only, the NOS chart wasn't mentioned by "mark".

LOL,

Everytime I hear of a Fokker on the radio it reminds me of the WWII story of a pilot yelling on the radio "I have fokkers on the left of me and fokkers on the right of me! Oh....those fokkers are flying messerschmidts!"

.....and everytime ATC issues us traffic advisories referencing an American F100, we usually respond "we have the mother Fokker insight".....

Not to many left in North America, when American parks theirs later this year, we'll have the only "modern" Fokkers left.
