as a newbie at AirWis, I now only have 2 choices for a dom with today's news of ATL and DEN closing.

just curious if anyone commutes from CVG to IAD? I notice only Comair does it direct, like 5 times per day. (I won't do a 2 leg commute).

so, besides wondering where I can hold a better line (I"m ORD for now, hard line in July), I'm wondering how hard it would be to get from CVG-IAD?

thanks in advance,

UP

You may not have a choice for quite awhile. I suspect IAD will be the junior domicile. Over one third of the crj pilots will be in IAD. I do not think many will bid it voluntarily. If you are on the bottom 20% of the seniortiy list, you will probably end up in IAD.

That said, when you do have a choice, it is probably best to bid ORD if you live in CVG. Why? It is always easiest to commute online. You can occupy the jumpseat if there is no room in the back. CVG to Dulles on Comair won't do that for you. The commuter policy won't protect you either if you commute offline.

Food for thought:

In addition to any Delta or Comair employees that may travel this route......

ACA has a base in CVG and a base in ORD. Both are closing soon and all flying will be consolidated in IAD. I hae a feeling that the jumpseat is going to be a hot commodity on these routes for a while.
