Hey all,

Starting a job in a few weeks that will require wearing a full uniform. Company provides pants, jacket, tie, etc, but leaves the shirts up to the pilots to buy. What's the best kind out there that you have used? Please be honest and give a few reasons why you like them. I know of the Van Husen also looking at Landerwood Shirts. Open to any kind but want a good quality comfortable shirt that also looks good and crisp. Thanks! Feel free to PM me.

I just buy from our uniform supplier now, but I used to buy the Pilot House shirts, and they were the best quality I've seen. Still not 100% cotton like I'd like, but a higher percentage than usual, and definitely more durable. They'll last a few years if you treat them right.

Thanks all, would love some more input see which way to go. of course i could just order one of each, haha.

I'll second the Landerwood...........

It is a good thing that this thread is hidden away in the GA section as you guys are at risk of losing you man card with this discussion!!!

I had Van Huesons when I started and recently switched to Pilot House.

The Pilot House shirts are much much better. Its a thicker material, and they're tapered so they actually fit, unless you happen to be a fatass. They stay tucked in better, and just look a lot sharper.

Them shirts are for the non beer drinking pilots!!! I seem to have neck and shoulder issues in all shirts.

Wear Landerwoods, and you'll pi$$ on everything else.

Landerwood shirts are expensive...but I've not been impressed by their cut or construction. It's the only pilot shirt I've worn that fell apart. I've had several seams come apart in the wash.

The crewgear shirts were okay, and the Van Heusen shirts are just fine. I wouldn't spent the extra money on the Landerwood. I did once, and wasn't satisfied...Van Heusen works just fine.

I own 12 (6 or 7 for the last 6 years) and have never had any problems w/ construction, even in commercial washers. I've managed to fight off the beer gut and find them cut perfectly for me. Most others I've tried are full of extra material you gotta tuck in.

I'll bet if you called them with your issue, they'd replace it. Might be an isolated incident. I believe in getting what you pay for.
