It will be interesting to watch the interaction between the 495 and the other pilots when recalls begin. Both groups will assume the most outspoken a-holes represent the majority and it could have a negative effect on teamwork.

There will be NO recalls for at least 3 years and possibly another furlough between! IMHO

I don't think so. I know our active guys had or can have no affect on our status. I do think a lot of guys have a beef with the Union, not on our being furloughed, but on the seeming lack of communication. Even the most green E-1 gets word with a warning order when something is coming up. I'm tired of getting more and timely info from AIN then NJASAP.

But if this was a surprise to anyone in this business, they weren't paying attention.

Not a surprise, just funny to me. Buying the company that just pimped us out. MJ made a ton of money by basically skimming off the top and now BH rewards them by buying them out. So what exactly did they buy, the right to sell our planes 25hrs at a time?

Yes I know MJ made a little money for NJ with their marketing technique. And I did enjoy the gifts. ;)

Without marquis, there wouldn't be a need for the bottom 1/3 of the seniority list. Of course, most of those would have gone/remained somewhere else.

Financial terms were not disclosed but I'm hearing the company paid somewhere in the neighborhood of a pizza and a six-pack to take over Marquis. The business model for Marquis was broken and they owed NJ a stack of cash. KD was kept on for his contacts and marketing savvy but I doubt anybody at Marquis made retirement money off the deal.

uh you sure about that? No reason NJ couldnt sell in a similar manner without MJ.

I'm sure they filled their pockets before RTS got the boot.

I really don't know what you are talking about. I got an email the night before it was publicly announced. If you didn't, call the company and make sure they have your correct BB email. Everyone I know got the message.
