Thanks for the info. I always thought the 90% rule was strange. I have heard the boundry layer air argument, but was not sold on the idea.

Also glad to see there was a comon thread.

Still gotta ask yourself, why would the -5 on a BJ have this problem if it does not on a Citation? There's got to be more to this than simply flying in an area of convective activity.
 
Even more to the point, the -5 has been in operation on the Beechjet for 20 years now... why all the recent problems? I have 2000hrs in it myself from single digit serial numbers to fresh of the line 400xp. I have never experienced or heard of anything like this.
