Beechjet Operators,

What does your company use as minimum runway length for landing? Would you please give specifics, i.e. dry, contamination, etc... Thanks much. I've forgotten what we used from my FLOPS days.

Prior to Part 135:

4000' minimum runway day dry vfr less than 15 kts wind and and tr's working
4500' minimum if it does not meet above requirements
or AFM numbers...whichever is higher

After part 135
60% rule (divide afm landing distance by .6 example 3000' afm distance/.6=5000' minimum runway)

If runway is wet, multiply 60% rule x 1.15 to get wet runway minimum
3000' afm/.6=5000' x 1.15 = 5750 minimum for wet runway.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. I have a feeling I'm going to be asked to take our Beechjet to Hooterville. (You know. We've all been there.) This will help me convince my boss that the biggest operators of Beechjets won't do it, so there must be a good reason for it.

My previous employer was part 135 so all that technical stuff applied, but most folks can figure those rules weren't always followed. Our rule of thumb was a min of 5000'. We went in one night in the rain on 5000' long rwy. Actually a Diamond (no TR's) holy sh^t! MISTAKE. It was a miracle we had enough pavement left to turn the airplane around to back taxi to the ramp.
