I am currently an FO on a large turboprop, flying 121 freight. I have a decent bit of time and I am looking at ways to get some turbine PIC. I have a question for all of those pilots who fly 135 in Beech 99's, Shorts, Etc. Does the turbine PIC count for the likes of UPS, FedEx, and other quality operators. I am debating on staying where I am and waiting on the upgrade which may come in a year or five, or going and getting my PIC in a small turboprop. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

I know there are a million 121 pilots with tons of RJ PIC time, just curious if checking the box is enough, or if these companies are going to be sticklers for turbojet/121/heavier AC.

Not true. I got on with only beech 1900 time (about 2000 PIC) and a friend of mine was hired with King Air 350 time. All that matters is the 3 recomendations( one of which must be your sponsor).
Good luck

Yes, FedEx hires an occasional civilian, but they hire 10 military pilots for every civilian.

OK, so let's forget FedEx. Maybe I was too specific. Is 1000 turbine PIC all that matters, or do bigger and better airlines care what type of 1000 PIC turbine you have. Thanks.

Quality PIC Time

Quality PIC time is considered experience in over 12,500 lbs and of cource an ATP and type rating.
So stay where you at & get the upgrade. (Just my .02c)
