I was wanting to ask if anyone knew where I can get a Beech 1900 Type rating (Initial). I phoned up flightsafety the otherday and they quoted me $15,100. Then I was advised to call up some community college in Colorado...I think the place was AIMS in Greery. They quoted me $11,500. Now seeing that there is quite some difference in the price quoted, I was wondering if shopping around anymore can bring the price down further. If anyone knows of anywhere I can obtain the B1900D type rating then I'd appreciate it if you could tell me where. An approximation of the price would be nice, but I can call up myself and find out that information.

CAE Simuflite and Pan Am have been tried and they can't help.

Please, before someone jumps on a PFT topic here - don't bother. The training costs here are covered by a company overseas.

Thanks.

Call tom Brink at Colgan air, 703 331 3107 and tell him you want one, if he hires you, you sign a 12 month 12k contract devalued at 1000 a month. they're hurtin for people with time i hear.

What's going on Climb??

He should still give Tommy a call.. He'll take his money and give him a type.. Probably won't give him a job, but the type is what he wants.

where to go

Flight Safety and the Colorado operation. I vote flight safety, if you are not paying for it. Big name and establish recurrent programs and insurance companies love FSI.

Click the link to the FTI ad above that says "737 type rating sale." They have a 1900 type for $6500.
