I'm scheduled for the BE-30 type @ CAE and would like any info concerning the oral & type ride on the 350. Any personal tips for the oral and sim check?
Finished my BE30 type in October at CAE Dallas. Ground school thoroughly prepared me for the oral without having to study after class. The first couple sims are there to check off required boxes (NDB appr, etc). The last two are prep for the checkride. Familiarize yourself with JFK(apt diagram, Kennedy 1 departure-breezy pt climb, VOR 4L (circle 31R), GPS & ILS approach. If you're used to flying in /out of JFK, you'll have fun in the sim. Just remember...You are a client. Your company is paying CAE to train and type rate you. Put forth the effort and it will actually be a pleasant experience. PM me if you have further questions.
Very standard stuff, be sure to get the single pilot check also. The entire checkride is done as a crew and for the single pilot sign off you have to takeoff with an engine failure after V1, run the checklist and then i think it was vectors to a no flap landing all without someone in the right seat.
