How can a wannabe like me get to spend a day or so at an AF base and meet some of the guys/gals who are doing the jobs I want to do? I'd like to get a better picture of life and "culture" of the unit or just any unit really....

Thx

I'm not a Guard/Reserve pilot, but I'd call a Guard/Reserve unit, find out when their drill weekend is, and see if you can come out and talk to them and watch what they do. Where do you live?

Call the AFB, ask for " " squadron. Just introduce yourself and tell them you are interested in there unit and if you could possibly stop by and meet some of the guys, or take someone out to lunch. The USAFR units really like that, face time a huge factor as long as they like ya. If they like you after your first meeting, they'll most likely tell you to stop by anytime and hang out.

Good Luck
