Anyone have any good information on Bali?

Going there for 10 days next month. Has anybody flown from the west coast to WADD? We are going from PHNL to WADD. How were the winds, airport, etc...

How about places to see, have and adult beverage?

I am not sure what WADD is, but been there many times.

Adult drinks, surf, white water rafting, paragliding, volcano hikes, bungee jumping, hotels ($3~$500)?????

Was there a couple years back. Ritz Carlton was a great hotel with good crew rate. Do NOT try the butterfish! It tastes great but the results the next morning were disasterous! (uncontainable yelow oily substance that lasted all the way to Dubai)

Anyone have any good information on Bali?

I was last there a couple of years ago. Originally the plan was to be there a week but as we were getting ready to depart we discovered a problem... yada, yada, yada we ended up spending 12 days there. (Note to Federal Express: "When it absolutely, positively has to get there overnight..." Yeah right.)

Believe me, after 10 days you will probably become fluent in the language and the butterfish will no longer cause distress. Most of the beaches are "tops optional" so you'll probably end up spending a lot of time at the water. Take plenty of sunscreen. There are some must see attractions - the Gunung Batur volcano and the Sangeh Monkey Forest were worth the effort. Also, one of the beachfront hotels puts on a dinner and show (I don't remember if it was an every night thing or not.) that was definately worth the $$$.

It was an enteresting couple of weeks for us. When we got back we told the other guys that it was pure hell. (That's our story and we're sticking to it.) That being said, a little bit of Bali goes a long way. I would keep on my toes though, they've had some anti-American issues in Indonesia.
