Any 146 drivers on here care to comment on the bird? Anyone have any Flight Manuals they might like to part with?

You might want to post in the regional forum. Maybe some Air Whiskey guys would?

I saw in another thread that PSA is getting a slew of them.
A slew? A veritable cornucopia, is what I heard.

PSA getting what? The BAE 146 and then you guys could merge with us at Air Whiskey!!!!!!

BAE= Bring another engine
The fastest plane below 10K and slowest above.
The Rodney jet, because you get no respect flying it.

Honestly it flies nice and is comfy in the cockpit. Typical British systems and Rube Goldberg engineering but enjoy it if you get a chance.

Lets run with this and see how far it goes.

I was talking to a senior check airman and he told me that they might be painting them in the original PSA colors as part of the whole "heritage" thing.

It is all true!!!

No I really did hear about this...

Yeah, A senior PSA check airman told me that the Bae-146s are going to be used for "hot and high" flying out of the new LAS base.

I think I saw one in paint, right next to the new Piedmont Q400 in BGR.

If you guys get the airplane enjoy. The only thing about the 146 is that it seems to be a bit of a bad luck charm at every airline it arrives to. The US landscape is littered with defunct carriers that once flew this airplane.

The 146 does not really make sense for a LAS only operation. There was an airline in LAS years ago, Tristar? I think it was, there was also Royal West and a few others. LAS is not that high and while it does get hot it is no better than most of the current fleet of aircraft being produced. Also, the 4 engine cost is really outrageous considering fuel cost and maintenance on these aircraft.

Best of luck in whatever happens and it would be neat to see one in a retro paint.

I can dig it, the 70's paint schemes of airliners was kind of an "art deco" thing.

I know I miss the cheat line on the worlds airlines.

It's been a couple of years since I flew the AVRO, but it's still the fastest turbo-prop out there.
You gotta look at the bright side, at least it flies at almost twice the IAS of a Caravan.

PSA are getting all of Mesaba's after they get turned back in this summer. Of course they will have to be retrofitted without the auto throttles, get rid of the FADEC motors, take out all the TV screens........

As long as they put the old PSA "smile" back on the front of them it more than makes up for all the dinosaurs going out the back.

This is only rumor but heard whoever the AVRO owners may be, they are working a deal to fly the ASE service for UAL at DEN and some other routes. Hope it is going to be PSA as you guys have been very good to me over the years. All the wholly owned carriers need to be rewarded.
