Just got with a friend that said Cactus is only going to hire 75 more people and then stop!!! Anyone know if this is true?????

I've been here a month... so for what it's worth... We are hearing that hiring will continue at least through the end of '05. From my humble opinion, this is a great company to work for. By the way... I'm surprised there isn't more HP action on this website. I just got called by Airtran for an interview and I told them thanks, but no thanks. I like it here and I think I made the right call.

Good luck to ya'll--

Heard upto 300 next year; possible aircraft order coming soon?
Aircraft order announced earlier this summer: 21 Airbuses starting delivery in '05. Likely additional aircraft order as we get ETOPs certification next year.

FlynAAvy:

AirTran never called me and I have 1200 hours in the 717. Bugger 'em.

Freindlest bunch of people, one instructor came up to me as I was waiting to do my sim and talked a little bit bout possible plans. More expansion into Latin America, he mentioned Belize and Panama specifically. Return to Hawaii when they get ETOPS back. Looking for about 20 more 757's (plenty parked in the desert at rock-bottom prices I'm sure). Definately sounds like the place to be, I can't wait to start!

Hey flynAAvy,

How are the Airbus, um I mean 737, ooops, I mean Airbus flows going? Hope you flip the switches in the right direction! This class has a rep to uphold.

I flew the 73 twice this week on our days off... as expected, I was a complete soup sandwich. I kept gettin' my "Laws" mixed up. Turns out that the 73 doesn't have Alpha Floor protection... I don't think my little peanut brain can handle this! I need to log some more "Library" time.

As a fellow class member with flynAAvy, I can attest that he has recently been seen lying on the floor, twitching, sucking his thumb, and mumbling something about "mommy, mommy, where's my Boeing?" :)

After 2 days in the box with "The Phoenician from the Middle East", I want to tip over the fat guy on the raft. I've studied so much, I'm pretty sure the Bus has 4 engines, and I still can't find the "Check Essential" switch.

Someone make the bad man stop!

The wife is bummed she missed the party. We have to have another when we're done. That is if X ever get's done, he gets extra time because of the whole carburetor thing.

T.S. is on here too, I just don't know what his login is.

PS. By the way HAL, I don't think I'd admit the whole making the Navy guy lay on the floor and suck his "thumb" thing in public. Like it's a difficult thing to do....

PSS. Who wants to bet that K.L. tested the G limit logic on his first Navy launch in the Boeing?

First off, I doubt it was his thumb he was sucking on while he was lying on the floor! You know how limber those sailors are. Secondly, anybody who has ever flown a Boeing is going to be way behind the learning curve. Now as I see it, when you've flown a X, ya know the Cessna deal, (that flys .92 at FL510), its all down hill from there.

That #2 guy had issues at American......ooops, I mean TWA. He'll be lucky to be #12 in the July 26th Monkey class.

.... along with more aircraft coming onto the property, don't forget about retirements: approximately 100 for '05, 100 for '06, and 75 for '07.

I'll ask him tomorrow.

I think the monkey class needs another dose of "Blue Collar"!

Etops, ATA, etc

There's been some talk of ETOPS coming from ATA. What are you guys hearing in PHX?? Might be an easier way to do it...especially if via codeshare.

Yep, it was me. Ironically, Joe and I (my classmate, who was also there that night) were there again tonight (discussing Normal/Alternate/Direct Law, of course). Turns out school is IN SESSION AT ASU! I about crashed ten times driving down Mill Ave. Did I mention that I like it here?!
