I was wondering if anyone is going to the job fair in Cleveland, on June 28th?
I've heard of the Air Inc. seminar (and I know that that topic has been discussed to ad nauseum, and do NOT want to go there).....But has anyone heard of these job fairs? Anyone ever been? Their website says they've been in business for two years....so I'm just looking for a bit of feedback on them. Also, what's the scholarship program about?

Their website indicates this is the First Ever Aviation Interviews Job Fair! (sorry, copied that from the website)...So, I doubt you'll get much feedback about their job fairs here. They do an excellent job with their website, providing information on the interview process at many airlines, etc., but how that translates into holding a job fair remains to be seen.

I don't know much about their scholarship program either, but I would think you could email them, and they would provide you with some information and answer whatever questions you might have.

They've grown and improved impressively over those two years, depsite being slow ones for hiring. They started as the de facto replacement for willflyforfood, have matured nicely, and that interview gouge is priceless. Perhaps it's good to support the underdog here so we can choose against Windbag Inc. in the future.

Hey everyone, I just thought I'd answer a few of your questions. I'm kind of surprised no one responded to my first post about the job fair.

Any ways....
Here is some back ground on me and the job fair. Back in Sept of 2000 I was hired at CoEx (now Express Jet). 6 months after I got hired a bunch of my friends were trying to get on and I helped them out with some interview gouge. People kept calling me asking for gouge and I decided to start the web site. As I'm sure all of you already know, it grew from a tiny site with 4 original members and 10 experiences to over 11,000 members and around 730 different interview experiences.

Over the past 6-12 months many of my friends and members of the site have expressed their distaste for those "other" job fairs that charge $200+ to attend. They asked if I would be willing to put on a job fair that would be more affordable, since we all know when you break into this industry we are all flat broke! I tossed the idea around for a while and then decided to go for it. The cost will be $25 per person (until May 31 so I can get an idea of how many will attend, after May 31 the price will be $50 per person). Basically the fee will cover the cost of the convention center and a few snacks and sodas.
This will not be like those "other" job fairs. I'm not going to stand up there and try to sell you this book, or that book. This event is about meeting with the recruiters face to face and helping you find a job!

The scholarship fund -
Why did I start this? There are a few dollars made from the web site from those who choose to donate. I don't want to profit from other pilots hard earned money, so I've decided to "give something back". In the fall semester I will be giving the scholarship away to one or several lucky flight students at the university I attended. Any extra cash that is made from the job fair will be put into the scholarship fund!

I would really like to meet all of you at the job fair and hopefully it will help you land your first job, or if you are furloughed it can help you find a new job.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me any time!
