Since us pilots have no solutions, I suggest users email this company, flogger, who have an app for IPHONE, and tell them to get with the times, and get a ANDROID app out there!
I have a new Android app that just came out that shows all FAA delay programs like ground stops and such. I really like it, I have a heads up if there are delay problems going to a specific airport. Its called "FAA Delay Scanner"
My co-worker has an IPhone and just got an Ipad 2. We used a program in the air yesterday called Wing X Pro 7. Freaking awesome! I believe they have the program available for Android phones as well, but you will have to check their web site for the differences in features. With the IPad, my co-worker used a GPS attachment that goes into the port at the bottom called Bad Elf. http://bad-elf.com/products/gps/
The GPS device cost $100 and allows your airplane to be overlaid on the moving map display. The program itself is 99 cents, but to get the updated databases and updated maps, it's $100/year....which isn't bad for all it can do. It sure beat the pants off of any Garmin if you ask me, because it's a much more intuitive interface. It pretty much does everything. I believe you can get it for Android, but I don't think they are supporting Android nearly as much as Apple.
